How to Use a Silicone Steamer Basket
This silicone steamer basket works great for several different cooking uses – steaming, straining and draining. It can be used inside most 6qt & 8qt pressure cookers or inside a standard cooking pot.
Steaming Instructions
Step 1: Begin by placing the silicone basket into your pressure cooker pot or standard baking pot. Add about 1 inch of water to the pot.
Step 2: Fill the basket with your desired foods for steaming.
Step 3: Secure the lid on your pressure cooker or place the lid on your cooking pot if using a stovetop. Steam according to your pressure cooker or recipe’s instructions.
Step 4: After steaming is finished, carefully remove the basket from the pot using the handles.
Straining Instructions
This basket can be used to strain broth in either a pressure cooker or standard cooking pot. You’ll need to find a recipe or instructions for your particular cooker, depending on the type of broth you are making and the desired amount.
Here is the general process for straining broth.
Step 1: Place the basket into your pressure cooker pot or standard baking pot. Add the amount of water required for your recipe.
Step 2: Fill the silicone basket with the desired foods for your broth.
Step 3: Secure the lid on your pressure cooker or place the lid on your cooking pot is using a stovetop. Cook according to your recipe’s instructions.
Step 4: Once cooking is finished, remove the silicone basket from the pot using the handles. Your pot will be filled with the broth.
Step 5: The silicone basket can be used to further strain the broth if needed. Set the basket inside of an empty pot, then pour the contents of your original pot into the basket. Repeat as needed to filter out any remaining pieces in the broth.
Draining Instructions
To use this basket for cleaning or draining foods, simply place your silicone basket in the sink. Then put your desired foods in the basket to drain. If washing foods like fruit or vegetables, run the basket under cold water to clean them.
Storage Instructions
This steamer basket can easily be compressed to reduce the size for storage.
Step 1: Press upward on the bottom of the basket and roll the top edge outward, so that the basket is almost fully inside-out.
Step 2: Now take the lip of the basket (the side with the handles) and carefully roll it inward. Work your way around the edge of the basket until both folded edges are approximately the same height.
Step 3: Latch the handles together and your basket is now ready for storage.

We recommend cleaning the silicone steamer basket by hand using dish soap and warm water.
